Illustrations
I rediscovered illustration later in life. As a kid, drawing was my world, but it faded during my teenage years. Luckily, a rough breakup during my first trip to Europe in my early 20s brought me back to the pencil, leting it all out.
Since then, drawing has been my escape, my therapy, and my creative playground, where there are no limits, just pure self-expression.
Typefaces
This project came out of a simple thought when I was finishing my graphic design studies: what if Typefaces meant actual faces made of type? I couldn’t get the idea out of my head. During the era of Fotolog and Flickr, I started creating one typographic character a week. After more than 100 weeks, I had a collection of unique little creatures, each with its own personality, all made out of fonts. It’s still one of my favorite projects, a mix of typography and character design that’s pure fun.
Época
More than a decade ago, I got my first vintage bike, a 1950s Raleigh. That kicked off the love for antique bicycles, their history, their parts, and the stories behind them. I’ve collected over 20 bikes since, and even though I don’t own as many now, my love for cycling’s golden age hasn’t gone anywhere. This inspired me to create a series of illustrations based on iconic moments and figures in cycling history, brought to life with my personal artistic style.
